Eating Healthy On a Budget

I wrote a guest post for my friend Jill over at The Diaper Diaries called Eating Healthy on a Budget. She’s a real-life friend and I love following her own journey toward eating healthier, real food.

Check it out!

  2. Really enjoyed your guest post! Those are good tips for those of us that don’t come from whole foods backgrounds. Even though I live in a small town, we have a farmers’ market twice a week. I definitely need to take advantage of that!

Thanks for the feedback, Jenni! I love guiding people into eating well – it really is easy, you just have to think a little bit differently. πŸ™‚

I found your website from Diaper Diaries (not sure how I even got there though). Anyway, I am very interested in cutting my grocery bill and including more whole grains and veggies in our meals. I was wondering if you had any cookbook suggestions, or at least where you get your recipies. I have a typical “meat and potatoes” husband so I would like to make the transition as easy and tasteful as possible. Thanks!

Okay – my reply is about 4 months late – but you should know that I had a baby the day after you posted this comment πŸ™‚

I love “Simply in Season” – it’s a wonderful cookbook to get you started…and there is plenty of meat in there along with the veggies and whole grains to make everyone’s transition easier. I also like Chef Andrea Beaman’s recipes (andreabeaman.com).

My husband was a meat and potatoes man when we first got married – but he was open to change and now we’re eating all kinds of foods together…and he is satisfied!
